Notarial Law
Under the supervision of an experienced notary, Legal Clinic students offer free legal information services to the public, including members of the university community.
The Clinic’s activities enable students with an interest in the notarial profession to explore its different facets and develop their skills in a practical context, while responding to a real and critical concern of offering the public a better understanding of their rights and obligations, thus ensuring better accessibility to justice.
Consultations cover topics that relate to the traditional notarial practice, such as:
- Institutions of protective supervision of persons (e.g.: guardianship, mandate in case of incapacity)
- Marriages, Civil Unions and Common-law Unions
- Wills and Estate Planning
- The purchase or sale of a building
- Co-ownership
