Louis-Arsène Lavallée (1861-1936)
Mayor of Montreal (1912-1914)
Called to the Quebec Bar in July 1884, Louis-Arsène Lavallée was elected Adelman of the La Fontaine ward six times before becoming Mayor of Montreal from 1912 to 1914. Due to his policies in favour of expanding the city limits, he was nicknamed the “Father of Greater Montreal” by the press. A street was named after him in Montreal.
