Pierre-Joseph-Olivier Chauveau (1820-1890)
First Premier of Quebec (1867-1873) Following the Confederation of 1867, Pierre-Joseph-Olivier Chauveau was elected Premier of Quebec. He resigned from his position in February 1873 after being appointed Speaker of the Senate of Canada. Me Chauveau was a professor of roman law from 1878 until 1890, the year of his death, in addition to be elected as Dean in 1885.
