Summer School on the Fundamentals of Canadian Law An immersive program in constitutional, civil, and comparative law with practical insights from Canada’s legal institutions.

Discover Canadian Law in One of North America’s Most Vibrant Cities

  • Faculty Of Law, University de Montréal
  • From Monday, July 6th to Friday July 17th, 2026

Are you a law student seeking to deepen your understanding of law in a North American context? Join students from around the world for the Summer School on the Fundamentals of Canadian Law, an immersive academic and cultural experience taking place in Montreal from July 6th to July 17th.

Over two intensive weeks, you will explore the key features of the Canadian legal and judicial system, renowned for its bijural and bilingual tradition. The program offers a strong theoretical foundation through engaging lectures and discussions led by distinguished professors and legal experts. This academic training is complemented by visits to major legal and political institutions in Montreal and Ottawa, providing practical insight into the application of Canadian law in institutional settings.

Hosted in Montreal, a bilingual and multicultural metropolis recognized for its academic excellence, the Summer School provides an ideal environment for international learning and exchange. While days are dedicated to academic activities, evenings and weekends remain free, allowing you to discover Montreal’s rich cultural life, diverse neighborhoods, and beautiful surroundings. Students from the Faculty of Law will also propose activities designed to help you fully experience student life in Montreal.
