“Each day, we are required to sign increasingly standardized everyday contracts (banks, insurance, business, telecommunications, housing) without the ability to negotiate or even read them! Yet, these contracts often contravene our rights as consumers. Meanwhile, Québec’s population is aging and thus becoming more vulnerable to abuse and exploitation. These social issues concern me, and in my teaching as well as my research, my objective is clear: let’s institute effective, accessible legal mechanisms to better protect vulnerable people, more specifically in their contractual relations!”
