Michel Deschamps

Associate Professor, Banking law

Michel Deschamps has been teaching banking law at the Faculty since 1972. A partner at the McCarthy Tetrault law firm in Montreal, Deschamps is a recognized specialist in banking law, trade law and company financing law, in addition to being a prolific writer. He is also very involved in the Barreau du Québec, where he presides over the editorial board for Revue du Barreau, the Securities Law Committee and the Consumer Protection Committee. All major publications in Canada, in the U.S. and in England that assess the impact of lawyers agree that Michel Deschamps is a leading figure in banking and financial law in Canada.
